7th Street Park – Pavilion by the Pond

July 11, 2026

3:30 PM – 5:30 PM

What to expect:

DIY activities including paint-your-own door mats, faux stained glass vases, and more (limited supplies)

FREE books, STEM items, and educational resources

Free seeds, garden and house plants, gardening info, and take-home materials

Outdoor games, sports activities, scavenger hunts, and prizes

Play-ready sports & recreation items to take home (limited quantity)

“Get Her in the Game” Girls Jamboree information and sign-ups

Girls Play Ready Kit sign-ups and equipment needs feedback gathering

Eastern Oregon Care Boxes information, household interest surveys, donation opportunities, volunteer sign-ups, and early registration opportunities for families interested in receiving future support boxes as the program expands in phases

FREE food, drinks, music, and family fun!

Sign up information for Eastern Oregon Care Boxes will be available at this event. EOCB are designed to help support rural families, seniors, and vulnerable households through food support, wellness items, educational materials, household essentials, gardening resources, recreation items, and community connection opportunities. These resources are also intended for ALICE households and include our vulnerable populations that might not qualify for state assistance but meet the threshold for unmet needs. We didn’t forget about you!

This event is designed to help connect families with recreation, wellness, educational resources, and community support in a fun and welcoming environment.

Everything is FREE and open to all families. Donations are appreciated but never required.

We can’t wait to kick off summer with you at 7th Street!

Youth Sports Advisory Crew Registration

Empowering Girls & Young Women: Join the Youth Sports Advisory Crew! Your Voice Matters — Help Shape Youth Sports Programs

Purpose / Invitation
– We’re looking for passionate girls and young women to join our Youth Advisory Crew to help design and improve youth sports programs.
– Be a leader, share your ideas, and make a difference in your community!

Who Can Join?
– Girls and young women ages 14 – 22
– All backgrounds and skill levels welcome!
– No prior experience needed — just bring your enthusiasm and ideas.

What You’ll Do
– Meet with other youth advisors to share your voice and help shape programs.
– Provide input on activities, equipment, outreach, and more.
– Help create a welcoming and inclusive sports environment for all girls.

Youth Volleyball

GRADES: 1st – 6th

REGISTRATION: SEPT 1 – OCT 6th

SEASON: OCT 13 – NOV 13

Starting this year, there will be changes to program fees to help better manage costs and logistics.

Registration Period Extended: Now open for 7 weeks (previously 4 weeks).

First 4 weeks: Standard rates for both in-district and out-of-district participants.
Weeks 5 & 6: Fees increase by $15 for both in-district and out-of-district.
Week 7 & beyond: Fees increase by $25 above the standard charge.

These changes are due to challenges caused by late sign-ups, including:

Late payments for registrations
Uneven teams and playing opportunities
Late jersey orders that cause delays and higher costs per unit
Rising operational costs

As long as you register during the first 4 weeks, you will not incur any additional fees.

The following grades are combined and practices will be Monday – Thursday at Humbolt Gymnasium. Teams are Co-Ed and are combined:

Adult Cornhole League

Bring your entry fee (cash) to the day of the event.

Cornhole: Our Cornhole League starts on Wednesday, June 14th, and runs every other Wednesday for 12 weeks (a total of 6 game nights), ending with a Tournament of Champions on the last Wednesday of the league play. There is a cash prize for the top 3 players in each tournament! Interested in playing but can’t commit to the entire league? That’s okay! Drop Ins are more than welcome!

Youth T-Ball

This program begins in May and ends in June. T-Ball is for children ages 5 – 7-year-olds. Helmets, bats, ball, bases, jersey tops and hats are provided. Practices and games will be Monday-Thursday from 4 pm – 5 pm or 5pm – 6 pm.

If you are willing to coach, please choose the Sign-Up w/ Parent as a coach option. This will waive tuition costs for your child/children. The Programs Manager will be in touch with more details including practice and game schedules at least 1 week prior to season’s beginning.

Youth Fall Flag Football

NFL FLAG FOOTBALL Registration is open!

Get ready for another exciting season! Our youth program is designed to teach children the fundamentals of the game while gradually building their skills and confidence on the field.

📅 Program Dates:

Sept 2 – Oct 2

Practices and games will be held Monday through Thursday.

📝 Registration Window:

Closes: August 26th

Now open for 7 weeks! (Extended from 4 weeks)

👥 Age Divisions (by grade level):

* 2nd & 3rd Grade

* 4th – 6th Grade

💲 Program Fees:

In-District:

* Weeks 1–4: $50

* Weeks 5–6: $65

* Week 7 and beyond: $75

Out-of-District (all other areas in Grant County outside of JDCCPRD Taxing District):

* Weeks 1–4: $65

* Weeks 5–6: $80

* Week 7 and beyond: $90

Note: These tiered fees reflect the challenges posed by late sign-ups, including:

– Delayed payments

– Uneven team distribution

– Last-minute jersey orders and increased costs

– Rising program expenses

This program is open to all 4th–6th graders and runs from January 5 through February 5

Practices and games will be held Monday–Thursday. A full schedule will be shared with parents once registration closes. All teams are co-ed.

Program Fees:

$50 for In-District participants (John Day & Canyon City)
$65 for Out-of-District participants (all other areas of Grant County)
Fees increase after 4 weeks.

If you’re interested in coaching, please select the “Sign-Up w/ Parent as Coach” option during registration. Coaching will waive your child’s program fee, and our Programs Manager will reach out with more information once you’ve signed up.
